Preschool

Dance is a universal language that connects communities, promotes wellbeing, encourages expression, and develops positive neural pathways.

Human beings have been dancing since the beginning of time and children have an innate predisposition to move rhythmically in response to music.

Through dance, we teach important life skills that lay the foundation to build a successful future, and most importantly, it’s fun!

Our play-based dance programs are built on the foundation of The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, ACECQA National Quality Standard 1, 2, 5 and 6, and our studio values of Kindness, Inclusion, Empowerment and Growth.

Good habits formed at youth make all the difference.

Membership Options
Because habits aren’t casual

How does it work?
It is our professional recommendation that preschool students attend just one class per week, so this is the only membership option we offer.

It’s simple and cost-effective for families.
Our annual calendar is jam-packed with exciting opportunities for preschool students, so in order to get the full Dance Habit experience, we strongly recommend an annual commitment.

Upcoming Events

Preschool Uniform

  • A specific uniform is not required for our Preschool Classes, but we do ask that students present to class in a tidy manner with hair tied back neatly off the face.

  • Move with Me (18 months +) students might like to dress up in costume (e.g. Emma Wiggle).

  • Students should be able to move comfortably in their chosen outfit with no distractions (e.g. jewellery).

  • Hip Hop/Acro students must wear leggings or shorts with a leotard, singlet or tee shirt. Dresses and skirts are not appropriate for this class.

  • Ballet shoes are best for Move with MeFairies & Pixies and Intro to Dance classes, however, students are welcome to wear bare feet if preferred. Hip Hop/Acro students should wear runners and may do the Acro components in bare feet. Costume shoes and jiffies are not permitted in any lessons.

  • Please note that ballet shoes will be required for all Fairies and Pixies and Intro to Dance students participating in our August concert.

If you need to purchase dancewear or dance shoes, please visit our friends at Energetiks in Essendon, Bloch in Moonee Ponds or Dancewear Nation in Williamstown.
