Preschool Medal Day

  • Dance Habit 15 White Street Maribyrnong, VIC, 3032 Australia (map)

In Term 4, preschool students and parents are invited to participate in a special Medal Day.

While not compulsory, we strongly encourage participation as it is a wonderful experience and gives children the opportunity to feel a sense of pride in their achievements and be rewarded for all their hard work this year.

Medal Days will be held between 5 and 9 December in 2023.

The cost to participate in a Medal Day is $35 per student, which covers student report cards, certificates and medals. Medal Day fees are non-refundable once paid.

HOW IT WORKS

Medal Day runs much like a regular day at Dance Habit except that a senior member of our team is invited in to watch students dance together as a group. The class 'guest' will observe, chat and encourage students in a fun and supportive environment. Students wear a 'special' number - this is simply an early introduction to what we do with our older children for their Medal Tests when they have an external examiner.

The class is closed (meaning parents are unable to watch), however, immediately after the class, parents are invited in to the studio to enjoy a special medal presentation.

Each student is presented with a certificate, personalised report card and their very own medal to take home with lots of photo opportunities for proud mums and dads!

Report cards are pre-prepared by each student's teacher with additional comments from their guest on the day - a great way for parents to receive a direct report on their own child's progress and skill development this year.

THE SCHEDULE

The schedule has been finalised and can be found on your Parent Portal.

Log in and go to Shared Files > Preschool Medal Week > Preschool Medal Week Schedule (5-9 December).

Your child’s Medal Day class and presentation has been scheduled as close to their regular class time as possible.

GROOMING

As with regular classes, students may wear anything they like to their Medal Day, but we do ask that they are neatly groomed with hair tidy and off the face - especially for the pictures and memories!

END GOAL

Medal Days have proven to be an incredibly positive experience for our youngest students and our number one reason for running them is to build happy, confident kids! Just wait until you see the pride and joy on all those faces when they receive their certificate, report card and medal!
