Adult Midyear Performance

  • RecWest Corner Essex & Market Streets West Footscray VIC 3012 Australia (map)

Midyear is SUPER low key, informal and very relaxed. It's not designed to be a polished performance but rather an opportunity to share some of the things we've been working on in class. It's also great fun to watch all the other styles and levels at Dance Habit!

If you're new to the studio and haven't experienced a Midyear before, we encourage you to join us. Even if you don't feel like participating on the day, you can still be part of the event by supporting your peers and cheering them on. We just love Midyear and we truly hope you can all be there.

“I was on such a high after the adult midyear. I really didn't know my dances as well as I'd hoped to, but I was so glad I joined in anyway. You guys truly embody the values that you have set and it is such a safe and positive space.”  Emily Re

ADMISSION

  • Gold coin donation per person

BYO

  • Snacks, drinks and picnic rug/cushion to sit on

DANCERS’ ATTIRE

  • What you usually wear to lessons unless something specific has been discussed in your class group.

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE

  • All adult students are invited to participate and bring along your friends and family to watch. If you have joined our studio recently, don’t feel ready to perform (or simply don’t want to), we encourage you to come along anyway to enjoy the show and cheer on your peers!

  • Please assist us in making this event enjoyable for all. It will be a first for many, so we’d love your help to ensure everyone feels supported – loud applause for the win!

  • Our Midyear Performance is a relaxed low-key event, but we will be running on a very tight schedule. Please be on time to avoid disappointment.

  • Pre-registration is not required, which means we will not be doing a roll check prior to each class performing. It is important that you carefully check the running order and ensure you are ready to go when called.

  • We have LOTS of adults doing multiple items, so the running order is often a challenge! Many students will have only one short (2-minute) item to change shoes so please take the running order into consideration when planning your attire. Consider it great practice for the end-of-year concert!

  • BYO blanket or cushion to sit on the floor. Some chairs will be available; however, we ask that you keep these to the perimeter of the gymnasium and reserved for those who need them.

  • We will not be monitoring the use of cameras at this public event so please take this into consideration before attending. That said, we encourage everyone to avoid watching through a lens and choose to be in the moment instead!

  • Any help to assist us in cleaning/packing up after the event would be most appreciated.

  • Any questions, please contact us on info@dancehabit.com.au
